Women In Agriculture

2026 is the International Year of the Female Farmer.  Celebrate with us ALL season – become a member – support the females that grow your food!

IN CHARGE.

Women play essential roles across our farm – women are in the lead – from the farm owner and management to the farm crew, women are involved in all aspects of running this farm. We drive tractors, plant, harvest, manage employees, work in the greenhouses, fields and farm store, pay the bills, and whatever else it takes daily to keep the farm viable. Farming IS women’s work.

BELIEVE IT!

Women in agriculture are eager to learn and be a part of decision making on the same basis as their male counterparts. I affirm women can do the demanding work of running and maintaining a complex growing operation. Our farm has been doing it for years.

BEYOND THE FIELD.

Currently, I serve as President on the Atlantic County Board of Agriculture – we provide input to legislators, Rutgers University and other related organizations on issues affecting agriculture to help shape policy on ag-specific issues. Recently, I joined the Board of Trustees for the NJ Agricultural Society – signature programs include Farmers Against Hunger and the NJ Agricultural Leadership Program. Next month, I will be attending meetings in Washington, DC as part of a grassroots team to share our farming stories with lawmakers – I received a scholarship from the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition. Wish me luck!

EMPOWER.

I’m incredibly grateful for the wisdom, strength, and empowerment that has come from being supported by other women in agriculture. They push me through any self-doubt I have about my abilities, and I do the same for my managers and coworkers. It is freeing, and it broadens my skills and drives my ambitions.
